52 Wednesdays :: Heat

August 1, 2012

I’m Marla
Sprinkled throughout this journey are the little joys, moments of inspiration, and snippets of life that add color to our human experience. Join me as we embrace the beauty of imperfect perfection, the magic of a beautiful moment, and the endless possibilities of creativity.

I have a suspicion that my photo will only make sense to me.  Especially in black & white.  But currently, I feel as though this tree is akin to myself and that we are more alike and different at the present moment.

Heat.

Take the time to enjoy the next post in the circle by Ms. Pamela Joye  from Salem, Massachusetts.  You can find her post here:

  1. I think the haze of the tilted lens definitely speaks to the Heat theme this week… I’d love to hear how you feel a closeness with this particular tree!

  2. Pamela Joye says:

    what a beautiful surreal sort of dreamscape of a moment that does in fact feel heated – the high sun casting a long shadow on a tree that’s undoubtedly weathered many heat filled summers cooled by its leaves. and the soft focus you selected just enhances your expression.

    i cannot say that i understand exactly what makes you connect with this image, but i can imagine, and i feel something strong too, looking at it. sharing an image of meaning to you, makes us all look harder, with more attention, inside and out. i feel the wave of heat, the layers, the strength, the mystery…and a lot more. i love that you made this your own, and it is so beautiful in itself.

  4. Thats the fun of artistry! We don’t have to know what you are thinking. We get to ponder it, examine it, and come to our own conclusions. Sort of like cryptic lyrics in a song. We get to make it personal.

    For me, your tilt-shift focus on the tree makes it pop so much. It’s an enemy, it’s a friend. It might depend on the season or mood. here it’s a more enemy than friend.

    Just beautiful Marla! Love how it stands stall and proud despite the heat beating on it.

  6. I definitely see the heat Marla! Beautiful image and I love the haze and background. It would be a great fine art piece for your home. 🙂

  7. Carrie says:

    Beautiful post Marla, makes me really look deeply into the image and imagine.
