There are so many amazing and beautiful places I would love to see in the world, places I dream of going and taking my daughter. To experience, to see, to smell, to taste the world… this is a strong desire of my heart. We are lucky though, that we live in such a beautiful place with much to see and experience closer to home. As much as I would love to take dreamy, worldly vacations during the summer (or any other time for that matter!) it hasn’t been feasible yet. Before the school year ended I planned a week long road trip to see the Redwoods, San Francisco, and Yosemite. There was a lot of driving, little stops along the way, camping for three nights, a lot of exploring without agenda. It was such a wonderful whirlwind of a time, we really didn’t get to spend as much time in each place as I would have liked, but we only had a week after all and California is a very big place to navigate. I brought lots of film with me but didn’t end up taking as many pictures as I anticipated. Not because there wasn’t great opportunities at every turn, but I was able to experience more–to take it all in more readily by spending less time with my camera. Here is a visual of our week, all made with various film types.
These are beautiful, Marla! I love them!
