Robin found me through Instagram through one picture (here). Until earlier this year, I didn’t really understand the power of Instagram in helping clients find photographers, I didn’t even realize people might search via that social media avenue. So even though I am not super active on other social media platforms, I’m intentional about posting to Instagram and it has led to several really wonderful client connections, this one included.
When I arrived to the Gabel home, I met two little girls and two awesome parents. It was dark and peaceful inside their home and we shot film (one little lady especially loved the sound my camera made when it clicked and would sneak attack the button!), found the light, and documented their tender love for their newest family member. It was a super sweet afternoon and I’m so grateful to the Gabel’s for having me into their home that day. Additionally, can I just say how much I am in love with these black & white portraits?! The elegance of black & white film in newborn portraiture is unmatched in my opinion. Every time I develop black & white film from a newborn session I am always struck by the tangible emotion and raw beauty. It moves me. Hopefully it moves you too.
