52 Wednesdays :: Lights

I’m Marla
Sprinkled throughout this journey are the little joys, moments of inspiration, and snippets of life that add color to our human experience. Join me as we embrace the beauty of imperfect perfection, the magic of a beautiful moment, and the endless possibilities of creativity.

Earlier this week I had taken a few abstract photos of lights in anticipation of this assignment.  I like breaking away from the expected and familiar.  Tonight though, Miss E was sitting on the floor playing a game on the iPad and in my head it just looked pretty.  Sometimes moments in life just grab hold of my heart, like this one.  She isn’t doing anything spectacular but being her sweet little self, but I was happy to just relish in the moment instead of letting it pass by.

Next is Ms. Pamela Joye from Salem, MA.  I’m sure she has come up with something unique and hauntingly beautiful.  You can find her post on lights here:  http://www.pamelajoye.com/fine-art/?p=3030

    these feel like a modern norman rockwell – especially that second one; they have a quality that is both nostalgic and modern. the composition, the clarity, the light – both from the ipad and the tree lights – and that white stocking in the background. it really speaks to the time and place. happy christmas!

    I think it is the moments that grab a hold of your heart that make for the best captures. It is so wonderful to look back at a photo and not just see a great composition or nice exposure but to really feel the feeling that you felt back when you took the picture. Beautiful images this week. They feel so warm and peaceful.

    these are gorgeous Marla! The lighting is incredible, soft and feels so homey. These also seem to have a special sparkle to them. I love your tree by the way! I would love to know what your settings were for these!
