Golden hour… the dreamy golden light right before sun sets.  It emits such a feeling of wonder and magic.  Many photographers will name this as their favorite time of day because the light is just too dreamy for words.  Sometimes we’re fortunate enough to end a photo shoot at that time and often when I have that opportunity, the resulting images end up being some of my favorites.
This week, I’m going to post the first two–which are very recent.  The others are images captured within the last month or so.
Next in our circle, is a woman 2 weeks new to our group and we are thrilled to have her with us!

you know what’s interesting here marla is you can visibly see the difference in light quality of end of summer vs mid-summer. there’s a rich autumn quality to the first two – subtle rusty oranges and darker yellows; the hue is just ever so slightly different. i’m mad about that second one – the angle, the profile, the moment. spectacular.
Marla, these are so gorgeous. You have captured that golden light perfectly!
Yes dreamy is the word I would use to describe your photos! They really do look magical! So pretty!
oh, wow…thank you for these. the first shot gets me straight through the heart. it reminds me of the last scene in ‘tree of life’. like heaven. this light is magic, and so full of soul. and your daughter with the flower. this is just how we see things. gorgeous, marla.
These are fabulous and I particularly love the first two – the sunflowers and of course that pretty profile of your lovely girl. And the bokeh is to die for.
Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous light! I especially love the last two.
Absolutely gorgeous captures of the golden hour!! LOVE the maternity in the field, it is so dreamy.
