I recently traveled to Phoenix to visit with my best friend from college and decided to open up a few days/times for sessions. I really love photographing while traveling, the mix of meeting new people in completely different places than I’m used to is so much fun! Phoenix especially has such a completely difference landscape than Oregon, and as much as I love living in the Pacific Northwest, photographing in the desert is a really awesome change of scenery.
When Kristi contacted me for a mini session, she mentioned she’d love to have pictures of just herself and her daughter and never even mentioned that she was pregnant! When we talked again a few days before the session, that’s when I found out that she was about to have a baby and wanted to celebrate the special time with her sweet daughter Piper before sister came. I melted, because really–it was just the sweetest thing. I absolutely ADORE photographing moms with their babies/children and cannot emphasize how truly important it is!! Moms–anytime is the perfect time to be photographed with your kids. Kristi is extra proof of that, because her due date was days away when we met up!
Upon meeting them in person, I found that Kristi was the most delightful person, the kind you wish you could be friends with afterward. She was so kind and warm from the very start. I was also impressed with how calm and relaxed she was–especially when I found out that next morning that she had had her baby THAT NIGHT. That night people!! What incredible timing. That said, here are those precious photos from this sweet duo (now trio).
