Bruce is a childhood friend of mine, I’ve known him since we were 12 years old and as friends for over 20 years, we’ve seen each other through a lot of life.  Bruce was recruited for a rated-PG 16th birthday chippendale-esq dance from my two best friends; we served on student counsel together; he serenaded my cabin of girls with his guitar at outdoor school; he listened to my unrequited love woes in college; he has seen me at my best and my worst.  We joke and kid and laugh like children at times, and yet we are very honest and real with one another too and I love him like a brother.  Like myself, Bruce married young and even with a most faithful intent, both our relationships ended devastatingly.  I won’t touch much on it other than Bruce was certain he would never marry again–ever.  For years, even entertaining the idea of a relationship wasn’t an option and my heart hurt for the brokenness he felt but also because as humans, it wasn’t God’s design for us to be alone. We are meant to have a partner and meant to be loved, and I couldn’t imagine living 60 years without either.  I wished and prayed for his heart to mend and for a redeeming love story to unfold at the right time with an amazing woman.
I remember when Bruce met Jessica.  It was a random circumstance involving alcohol and a karaoke bar, but a connection sparked during an honest conversation about faith and desires of the heart.  It has been amazing to see these two people, broken by love, find healing and redemption through it and start a new life and a new family with their sons (both named Cameron/Camron).  It has been a privilege to get to know Jessica better over the last year and 1/2 and grow to love her like a sister.  I was so honored when they asked me if I would consider photographing their intimate wedding.  It was such a beautiful, happy day, and I felt so blessed to be a part of it in such a special way.  Thank you Bruce and Jessica for having me collect the visual memories of your most special day. I pray your love, patience, and understanding for each other grows exponentially every year. xoxo
